What’s been happening:

Lloyd Stephen Smith graduated from Penn State in 1950. Lloyd served the Navy in World War II on the USS Jansen, a destroyer escort, and completed tours of duty in the North Atlantic, Pacific, and European theaters. Lloyd spent more than 35 years as an educator in PA. During his Penn State years, he taught agriculture to local military veterans. After graduating from Penn State, he taught vocational agriculture at Cochranton and then at Mercer High School. While teaching, Lloyd completed graduate courses at Pitt, Penn State, and Case Western Reserve. He was awarded a Master's in Administration by the University of Pittsburgh. In 1960, he became the high school principal at Jamestown, PA where he served for 22 years. In Jamestown, Lloyd served the Lions Club and as an Elder at the Jamestown Presbyterian Church. He married Agnes Ellis who accompanied him to State College. Agnes worked in the scheduling office at Penn State. She worked with insurance in Mercer and for 19 years was the Assistant Registrar at Thiel College in Greenville, PA. Lloyd retired to Washington, PA where he served as president of the Citizens Library board, Deacon at the North Ten Mile Baptist Church and on the Amwell Township Water Authority and Zoning board. The Smiths have three children, Stephen, Mary Ann Kauffman, and Barbara Willkens, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
